The Table of Diversity™

The Table of Diversity was created in 2015 to help organizations talk about diversity in a way that included everyone.

Demetria, the creator of the Table of Diversity, was studying Industrial and Organizational Psychology with a focus in diversity and inclusion. She would go to one class and the topic would be “People of color in the workplace.” She would go to another class and the topic would be “People with disabilities in the workplace”. Every class was a siloed experience.

This wasn’t just how the classes operated, many organizations operate the same way. For Demetria, learning about intersectionality changed that. But, as Demetria tried telling others, the concept wasn’t landing.

That’s when the Table of Diversity was born!
